Before & After (GBC edition) by Dave Pullis

Below are a few before & after images from one of my recent projects with Ginger Beard Coffee (located downtown Tampa, Channelside). They had just released a new coffee and we needed to make some images showcasing the new goods.

All photos were shot with a fairly slow shutter speed, ranging from 1/100 to 1/160 keeping the ISO as low as possible. The first photo was made outside, I had used a shutter speed of 1/160 because it was a gloomy morning so we had to adapt with the weather. The thumbs up photo (shutter speed 1/125) was made inside the coffee shop where we had an awesome light source thanks to the refrigerator. I wanted to show little movement in the image but with the slow shutter speed it made it a little challenging. The third image (shutter speed 1/100) was outside but in a covered court yard so lighting was tough to come by. We decided to use the lighting underneath the bar which already had an orange glow to it and made for a really nice image.

Together we came up with some great ideas which I think turned out really well. My favorite image is the first photo against the orange wall, which wasn’t that close to orange when I shot it. I love the simplicity of it and the colors were incredible.
